Ram Navami is one of most celebrated occasion in India. People Celebrate Ram Navami as birth of Shri Ram the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu which was born in Terta Yuga as its mentioned in the Hindu epic Ramayana , its a day celebrated as victory of Good over evil as Shri Ram was born to kill the demon King Ravana and to establish Peace and Harmony over the earth.
On this auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, People worship Lord Rama, they go to the temples, keep fast, eat simple food with no spice, and sweets are preferred most on this occasion. The Legend goes Dashratha King of Ayodhya had married to three Queens Kaushalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra, but the three Queens failed to give an heir to the king. By the advice of his kulguru Vashisht, King Organised a Yagya (a ritual done to fulfil any desire), So after Performing the Yagya, a fruit was given to the king and was instructed to distribute the fruit among the three queens equally, as after eating the fruit, all the three Queens got Pregnant, Thus Shri Ram was born to Kaushalya, Laxman and Shartughan to Sumitra and Bharat to Kaikeyi
Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya so it’s also called Ram Janam Bhoomi. The festival of Ram Navami is celebrated in Ayodhya as the whole city is decorated beautifully
